Irrfan
In 2020, we lost one of the most talented, versatile, and decorated stars Bollywood had to offer. Irrfan’s demise brought tears to many across the nation and globally as well. He was going through a prolonged disease named Neuroendocrine tumor, a form of cancer that emerged as the cause of his death. He breathed his last on 29th April 2020 at the age of 53. Paan Singh Tomar, Mumbai Meri Jaan, English Medium, Life of Pi, The Lunchbox, Talvaar, etc were some of his most memorable films.
Rishi Kapoor
Veteran superstar Rishi Kapoor, the chocolate boy of his generation passed just a day after the demise of Irrfan, i.e.30th April at the age of 67. He made his debut in Raj Kapoor’s emphatic masterpiece Mera Naam Joker and managed to live up to the Kapoor family’s legacy with his stellar performances. The veteran actor passed away due to Leukemia.
Sushant Singh Rajput
The on-screen MS Dhoni died the most controversial deaths of recent times. His death was more than just shocking because his case is still hanging with the CBI. Sushant last breathed on 14th June 2020 when his body was found in his bedroom. Many reports suggested that he capitulated through clinical depression, but his family and close friends are still denying this fact. He was a mere 34 and had a blistering career ahead waiting for him to reach immaculate heights, but maybe the almighty had different ideas.
SP Balasubrahmanyam
In 2020, Bollywood also lost one of the most melodious voices of all time in the form of SP Balasubrahmanyam. After testing positive for COVID-19 in the first week of August, he was shifted to the ICU after his condition deteriorated. Soon, SPB got moved to the ventilator where he breathed last on 25th September, aged 74. He holds a Guinness World Record of singing more than 40,000 songs in 50+ languages.
Rahat Indori
Rahat Indori was one of the most talented poets and artists India ever produced. He was known for his gags and poems on stage shows. Apart from his poems, he was known for penning Hindi songs like Chori Chori Jab Nazrein Mili (Kareeb), Bumbro (Mission Kashmir), Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Meenaxi), Dil Ko Hazar Bar (Murder), among others. He suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest on August 11 and died aged 70.
Jagdeep
Veteran actor Jagdeep better known for his imperious role of Soorma Bhopali in Sholay passed away on 8th July following age-related health issues. The 81-year-old actor has done as many as 400 films in his illustrious career. Throughout his career, he made a name for his impeccable comic timing. Later he tried his hands in directing movies as well.
Saroj Khan
Veteran choregrapher Saroj Khan also breathed his last this year as she bid adieu to this world on July 3rd due to a cardiac arrest. The 71-year old veteran’s career spanned over 40 years choreographing nearly 2000 songs.
Wajid Khan
Superhit music director Wajid Khan was among the shocking names who breathed their last this year. He was only 42 when he passed away due to an ill-timed cardiac arrest. He was also diagnosed with kidney failure and COVID-19, which made it really tough for him to survive.
Nawab Banoo AKA Nimmi
The 80s diva Nawab Banoo AKA Nimmi was also among those celebs who took his last breath in 2020. She was suffering from an undisclosed sickness for a fairly long time, which was later followed by a heart attack. Nimmi starred in movies such as Daag, Aan, Barsaat, and more. She took her last breath on 25th March at the age of 87.
