Are you planning a trip to Delhi: the city of Mughals? If so, then this is the right place to look for the best places you don’t want to miss out on paying a visit.

The long list of tourist attractions in Delhi often gives nightmares to established trip planners, but that’s not going to happen with us.

In this article, we have covered up almost every attraction that defines what Delhi is all about.

Delhi has so much in store that it is enough to make you come back to this city again and again. Don’t believe us, well, all we can say is pack up your bags and leave right away to the lands of history and flavors.

1. Red Fort

The Red Fort is a massive piece of architecture that defines the glorious Mughal era in India and is the face of tourist attractions in Delhi. Made out of red tone, it was built in 1638.  Along with that, the chhata bazaar and every evening sound and light show are special attractions. Diving deep into its history, you’d be surprised to know that the Fort was built when Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan shifted his capital to Delhi. UNESCO has declared Red Fort a World Heritage; it is hands down the most famous places to visit in Delhi.

2. Qutub Minar

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage, Qutub Minar stands tall with its 73 meter tall brick minaret. Built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak, the structure has five stories abundant with chiseled carvings and scriptures. This red stone tower is a heritage site of India is an amazing example of the beautiful Iranian architecture along with Parso-Arabic and Nagari details.

3. Bangla Sahib

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was first built as a small temple by Sikh General, Sardar Bhagel Singh in 1783. There is a big sarovar right in the heart of the complex. Along with that, Gurudwara houses a higher secondary school, Baba Baghel Singh Museum, a hospital, and a library.

4. Chandni Chowk

If you want to explore the real Delhi then there is no place better than Chandni Chowk. Also if you are a foody then we are begging you to please make your way down here, because the food over here is literally impossible to find anywhere else.

 5. Jama Masjid

Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India that can hold 25,000 devotees at one go. It was Shah Jahan’s first architectural wonders. The mosque has four towers and the southern tower gives a stunning view of the city. The only thing to remember while visiting the mosque is that you need to be dressed up appropriately.

 6. Hauz Khas Fort

With a lake in its heart, Hauz Khas fort can be your ultimate getaway from the rest of the world. Being one of the best tourist places in Delhi, the fort was built in the 13th century. It is an amazing place to hang out with friends and family.

7. Dilli Haat

It is an open-air food plaza cum crafts bazaar and this place is something you just cannot get enough of. Dilli Haat is situated near INA and is run by Delhi Tourism Authority. So, if you are planning on purchasing something handmade, you might want to come here because craftsmen from all over India gathers here and sell their handicrafts.

8. Lotus Temple

Lotus Temple is hands down one of the best and peaceful places to visit in Delhi. Lotus in the Bahai temple symbolizes four religions, i.e. Hinduism, Jainism, Islam, and Buddhism. This temple is dedicated to the Bahai faith that believes all the religions are united. There are nine doors which allow 2500 visitors at once.

9. Khan Chacha

If you are looking forward to eat the most delicious chicken in Delhi then head towards Khan Chacha. Trust us, you won’t regret going there. It was founded in 1970s, and since then it is known for providing delhites with the best chicken tikka and rolls.

10. Purana Quila

This is one of those places where your visit is a must. It is one of the most ancient grandeurs of Delhi with rectangular dimensions, it spreads over 2 kilometers. Boating in the lake and a sound and light show are something you don’t want to miss out.

Delhi is all about living the tradition, heritage of the country, getting a glimpse of history, enjoying the shopping culture, and the mouth-watering foods. Do make sure to visit Delhi, because the capital of India has got a lot to offer.
