Since we all are struggling a lot while staying at our homes amid virus outbreak and 21 day lockdown in India the government has decided to re-telecast the ‘80s Ramayana and Mahabharata on public demand. Both the serials will be broadcast from March 28.
On Friday, the information and broadcasting minister PrakashJavadekar announced the timings of the program which was followed by a tweet that goes something like this “happy to announce that on the public demand, we are starting re telecast of Ramayana from tomorrow, Saturday March 28th on DD National, 1 episode in morning 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m., another in the evening 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.”. It has been found that several social media users had demanded the re-telecast of the 80s and 90s Ramayana and BR Chopra directed by Mahabharata during the nationwide lockdown.
Ramayana: where and when to watch
As per the tweet made by DD news it has been made clear that 1 episode will be telecasted in the morning from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. everyday, while another will be telecasted from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

- The channel will be DD National.
- Two episodes will be telecasted everyday
- Timings will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the evening.
Those who don’t know, Ramayana was directed by RamanandSagar. The show was first broadcasted from 25th January 21st July 1988. The serial featured ArunGovil as Ram, Sunil Lahri as Lakshman, DeepikaChikhalia as Sita, Arvind Trivedi as Ravana, and Late Dara Singh as Hanuman.

BRchopras Mahabharata was first telecasted from October 2nd 1988 to June 24 1990. The serial featured Gajendra Chauhan, Praveen Kumar, Arjun, Sameer Chitre as the Pandavas, Nitish Bhardwaj of Krishna,Mukesh Khanna as BhishmaPitamahalong with Punit Issar who portrayed the role of Duryodhan, and RoopaGanguly playing the role of Draupadi.
