The cabinet secretary on this Monday said that all the rumors are unjustified and there are no plans to extend the 21-day lockdown. The 21-day lockdown which came into force last Tuesday due to the rising number of Coronavirus cases that has infected more than 1,000 people in the country. For this, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) tweeted that Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has denied all the media and public reports claiming that the government will expand the lockdown.
“There are rumors and media reports, claiming that the Government will extend the #Lockdown21 when it expires. The Cabinet Secretary has denied these reports, and stated that they are baseless,” it said.
In addition to this, Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba also denied the rumors about the countrywide COVID-19 lockdown extension. “I am surprised to see such reports, there is no such plan of extending the lockdown,” said Gauba.
For now, the lockdown period will continue till 14th April. The country is fighting with the outbreak in the best possible manner. From the past 3 months, the lockdown is applied in one country after the other; the emergency lockdowns have become known as the key solution against the COVID-19 pandemic. The nationwide lockdown announced by the honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received good reactions from several Indian leaders and the public who have called it the ‘best move’. The majority of the migrant workers are from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.

In the meantime, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in India has crossed 1000-mark on 29 March Sunday. Along with this, some deaths have been reported from diverse states, taking the death toll to 29. Worldwide, the situation is getting worse day by day, every day some new cases of the infected people are reported.
The COVID-19 numbers have exceeded to 6, 34,000, and the death toll is close up to 30,000, according to the latest reports received from the World Health Organisation. The 21 days lockdown period was announced after Janata Curfew on March 22, Prime Minister Modi. On 24 March PM Modi announced a nationwide lockdown from March 25 to 14 April.
It is a 3 weeks long session where all the public transport, any non-essential society or outside the house is banned. While people still receive the essential items for survival during the Coronavirus pandemic period. So far, the country has recorded over 1,100 Coronavirus positive cases with about 29 death cases and worldwide, the pandemic coronavirus has claimed more than 30,000 lives.
