There has been a report of lockdown of the latest Coronavirus pandemic in many areas of India in at least 75 districts. At the end of this month, cities like Mumbai have enforced Article 144. In total, trains and other means of transport between states have been shut off in many parts of India to curb the spread of Coronavirus, which infected more than 2.6 lakh persons and close to 11,000 lives (WHO Data).

The announcement came after India was under a volunteer 14-hour curfew to “apply considerable resources to tackle the epidemic” as demanded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Here is what will be suspended/shutdown in different parts of India till the end of this month:

  • Public transportation is to be shut down. All schools, colleges, and numerous other establishments will be shut down.
  • Movie theatres, malls, and cafes, bars and pubs, etc. are to be stopped.
  • Only the DTC bus at a capacity of 25% is permitted.
  • All public transportation is enabled including metro, E-Rickshaws, automobiles, private buses, inter-state bus service, taxis.
  • All religious places to be closed.
  • Construction activity to be suspended.

Here is the list of what does not come under the lockdown:

  • Hospitals
  • Fire stations, police stations, and prison departments.
  • Ration Shops.
  • Water and Electricity departments.
  • Municipality Services.
  • Chemists, Pharmacies.
  • Petrol Pumps.
  • Banks and Media services.
  • Grocery stores, milk shops.
  • Only home delivery and takeaways from restaurants.

On Sunday, the number of COVID-19 cases crossed in India to 340, with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported five deaths.

When China first announced zero cases of domestic transmissions, the first few cases of domestic transmissions were registered by India for the fourth consecutive day, contributing to governments adopting tougher measures.

Beginning midnight on 25 March, the Indian administration ordered the suspension of all domestic airlines, barring cargos. Cab aggregators Ola and Uber have declared to suspend operations in Delhi until 31 March to impose the lockdown.

The Center told some States that they could extend the scope of banned contracts based on their appraisal of the case, even as they have already given directives to limit movement and forbid mass gathering.

Indian Railways operate more than 13,500 passenger trains a day, cancelled until March 31st. The exception would be given to freight trains operating 9,000 a day. The decision would rely in the days ahead on the severity of the pandemic. A mandatory termination should not be omitted by the officer as mentioned.

The Indian count of Coronavirus increased to 468 with nine deaths recorded in a release by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Amid the outbreak, the government of Karnataka directed the state to be shut down until 31 March. Odisha, who locked 40% of the state earlier, has now expanded it to 21 districts. A minimum of 30 jurisdictions have been locked in to protect 548 areas.

Conclusion:

Therefore, all mobile health carriers in geographic areas must endorse preventive services, and any organizational entity should contribute to the livelihoods of everyday workers in factories such as tea sellers and vegetable vendors. The program would serve everyday wage owners, employers, and contract staff, provide comprehensive services and offer appropriate aid for populations at specific factory sites and near them.
