Currently, the whole world is under lockdown and it’s all due to the Coronavirus epidemic. To date, Coronavirus had affected millions of people all over the world and still, it is spreading very rapidly. This epidemic was started in China and now it covers all the countries and badly affects the survival of human beings.
In India, the first case of Coronavirus was confirmed in the last week of January 2020. But after the mid of March, the case of Coronavirus saw huge growth in India. Due to which Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had to take a huge step and he declared lockdown in India starting from 25th March 2020 to 14th April 2020.
The major goal behind lockdown was to stop spreading of Coronavirus outbreak in India. Here in this blog, we will discuss the phase 1 and Phase 2 of lockdown and lockdown guidelines to follow.
Phase 1 of Lockdown in India
Before the official statement of our Prime minister, most of the states declared a ban on few services like schools, offices, malls, travel, and much more. But when the situation seemed to be out of control, our Prime Minister declared total lockdown all over the country and who doesn’t follow it had to be punished against different acts. He declared the lockdown of 21 days starting from 25th March to 14th April. He also told that it is important for everyone to follow this lockdown and be united against the fight of Coronavirus Outbreak.
Guidelines of Lockdown to be followed;
The PM Modi declared few lockdown guidelines that must be followed by everyone to stop spreading of Coronavirus epidemic and the one, who will break, must be punished. The guidelines are as follows;
- Ban on stepping out from homes as he said to everyone to remain inside their homes.
- Only services like hospitals, banks, pharmacies, grocery shops, and other essential services remain opened and the other than this must be closed.
- Ban on commercial and private establishments. If necessary to operate then work from home is allowed.
- All educational, training and research institutes should be suspended till lockdown.
- Ban on social gatherings.
- All non-essential public and private transport suspended till lockdown.
- PM Modi also banned social, sports, political, entertainment, cultural, academic, and religious activities.
The major reason behind implementing lockdown guidelines was to maintain social distancing so that we could stop spreading of Coronavirus epidemic. We were successfully moving towards our goals and it looked like that we could stop spreading of Coronavirus till 14th April.
But few of the unconscious activities come as a barrier against our nation. The major incident was of Tablighi Jammat that happened in Delhi and there were also some other activities that stopped our nation in successfully controlling the Coronavirus. Due to their willful negligence, the number of Coronavirus patients increased and till 14th April 2020, the COVID-19 infections crossed 10,000 cases all over the country.
So, after consulting from chief minister of every state, PM Modi decided for Coronavirus Lockdown 2.0 in India.
Phase 2 of Lockdown
India’s first phase of lockdown was going to end at midnight on 14th April. But due to some unconscious activities and a rise in the number of infected people, Coronavirus lockdown extended by PM Modi till 3rd May. He addresses the nation and told that India’s fight against this epidemic is moving forward with great strength and it’s all due to your restraint, sacrifice, and penance that helps India in avoiding the disaster caused by Coronavirus. You have tolerated huge suffering to save your India and after this, he told us to stay at home till 3rd May.
He also added that most of you are facing problems like food, staying away from homes and families. But he pledged that people don’t have to worry about food and daily needs as we should ensure delivery of these things to you. Wherever you are at present please remain at that place and fight like a soldier against this epidemic. So, that we can proudly say that this is the power of unity and people of India.
He also said that from 20th April, there will be relaxation from lockdown in the districts where no COVID-19 case left. PM Modi also told that there are several districts in India, where zero cases of infections. So for those areas, he offered relaxation from lockdown, but also cautioned, if any case found then the relaxations will be removed.
He also said that the restrictions will be strongly implemented in the areas which become hotspot due to a large number of COVID-19 cases. The harsh steps will be taken in these areas and also closely monitored to stop the spreading of Coronavirus.
COVID-19 status in India and Relaxation Areas
After implementing Coronavirus lockdown 2.0 in India, PM Modi also said that we will offer relaxation in a few areas and the need for this second phase of lockdown to take control over the spreading of Coronavirus.
No doubt, somehow we are successful in controlling this epidemic in comparison to the population and size of our country. This all is happened due to the necessary precautions taken by our government, doctors, police, and workers. The role of peoples can’t be ignored in this as if ignore a few of the activities, most of the peoples followed the lockdown and remain inside their houses. Our PM Modi also thanked people regarding this and also appreciates them for cooperating with the efforts of governments to hold the Coronavirus.
From 20th April, Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to provide relaxation in the areas where there will be zero cases of infected people and also relaxation in some of the sectors like Health services (Including AYUSH), Agricultural activities, movement of Cargo, Public utilities, supply of essential goods, Commercial & Private establishments, Financial sector, Central Govt. Offices, MNREGA works, social sectors, construction activities, and State Govt. offices. The major reason behind it is to run the economy of the country together with the fight against COVID-19.
Our Prime Minister also wants our support in 7 major things;
- Special care of old peoples to protect them against this epidemic.
- Maintain social distancing and remain inside the home. Also, advise to use home-made masks.
- Daily drink hot water and follow the guidelines of the AYUSH ministry to enhance immunity.
- Arogya Setu app in every mobile
- Take care of poor families and try to fulfill their need for food.
- Be sympathetic towards your employees.
- Never forget to respect our Corona Warriors.
Conclusion:
It is time to be united and fight against Coronavirus. We all need to follow the lockdown guidelines to avoid the spreading of COVID-19. The second phase of lockdown comes with some relaxation for the areas where no infected cases were found. If we can maintain social distancing and remain inside our homes, then surely we will beat this epidemic quickly. If you feel any symptoms of COVID-19, then don’t hesitate to consult a doctor as if you don’t do this then not only you rather whole nation have to sacrifice.
