We are men, and we have a smell nice and elegant because we are surrounded by important people every now and then. Whether you believe it or not, but people often judge you by your fragrance.
If you want to smell out of this world, then it is my humble request to grab yourself a perfume as per your personality. Now you must be thinking why am I emphasising a lot on perfumes and not on Eau De Toilette, Colognes, and Aftershaves? Let me tell you that these formulations are less effective when compared to perfume.
So, before I get into enlisting top 10 perfumes, it’s my responsibility to tell you the core the difference between these three formulations.
All that differences are associated with a fragrance’s strength. An aftershave is the weakest as it is made up of around 1%-3% perfume oil. Eau De Toilette (EDT) is made up of 4%-8% of perfume oil. Cologne, on the other hand, contains 2%-5% oil. And finally comes in a perfum or perfume, these fragrances have around 15%-30% oil.
Now that you know why perfumes are the best, its time for us to dive into the list of top 10 perfumes which you as a man should invest in. This list serves both audiences, the ones who are ready to invest a fortune in a perfume, and the ones who are on a budget and looking for a beast performer.
1. Sauvage by Dior
To be honest, this is my personal favourite but it doesn’t mean it is some kind of favouritism. Sauvage is really a beast when it comes down to its notes and what makes this perfume #1 is the fact that it is being used by most of the celebrities, it is like their go to perfume.
Johnny Depp is the poster boy for this perfume which is something of a statement in itself.
Here are its notes:
Top notes: pepper and calabrian bergamot
Heart notes: geranium, lavender, sichuan pepper and elemi
Base notes: cedar, labdanum and ambroxan
2. Aventus by Creed
This scent was launched for the 250th celebration of Creed in 2010, and ever since then Aventus is considered to be the king of perfumes. Ask any perfume connoisseur, you’ll know that Creed’s Aventus is one hell of a scent, which you don’t want to miss out on.
However, there is one drawback to this wonderful fragrance, and that’s its price point. In India, Aventus will cost you around 25,000 Rupees.
Notes: apple, pineapple, black currant, bergamot, Moroccan jasmine, rose, patchouli, birch ambergris, vanilla, oak moss, and musk
3. OUD Noir by Versace
Versace OUD Noir is one of the most selling perfumes in the Versace brand. What makes this scent an exclusive one is its OUD that smells fresh and has floral undertones. Being a fresh fragrance, you can wear it all around the year without getting bored of it.
As far its projection goes, it is decent and projects a reasonably masculine with a hint of fresh and sexy scent. This is a perfect scent for office environments and cosy date nights.
Top notes: black pepper, neroli, bitter orange
Mid notes: olibanum, saffron, cardamom
Base notes: leatherwood, patchouli, agarwood (oud)
4. Chanel Allure Homme
Trust me; this list would’ve been incomplete with this killer scent. The reason being, Allure is a perfect combination of oranges and mandarin scents. Those who want to make a statement and get noticed, then Chanel Allure is just for you.
Being a fruity scent, Allure is more of a unisex fragrance. The best part of this fragrance is that it can be worn in any kind of seasons along with formal settings and when it comes down to its performance, only one word can explain it better, a MONSTER.
Notes:
Lemon, bergamot, peach, mandarin, lavender, ginger , Brazilian rosewood, rose, pepper, cedar, anise, vetiver, jasmine, freesia, patchouli, gardenia vanilla, oak moss, coconut, benzoin, musk, amber, Tonka bean, sandalwood, leather
5. 1 Million by Paco Rabanne
1 million goes back to year 2008 when it was launched by Paco Rabanne. Apart from Invictus which is PR’s most famous scents, 1 Million has set the bar up which somewhat seems impossible to conquer.
Being such a dominating scent, Arabian fragrances houses are doing their best to produce and launch one hell of a scent that could dethrone 1 Million. Having sparkling fruity notes to its name, this perfume can be your go-to scent if you want to seduce your woman.
Notes: blood mandarin, mint, grapefruit, spicy notes, cinnamon, rose, Indian patchouli, amber, woody notes, and leather
Those fragrances were on the expensive side of the market, the fragrances which I am about to mention, are affordable yet amazing.
6. Nautica Voyage
Nautica Voyage is a globally renowned scent as it was made by master perfumer, Maurice Roucel, a maker who has responsible for creating some of the most expensive masterpieces in the fragrance industry.
Voyage opens up with a fresh vibe that is sweet, light, and refreshing at the same time. High heat suits this scent better, as it helps you outshine the crowd.
Notes:
Top notes: green leaves and apple
Mid notes: mimosa and lotus
Base notes: amber, musk, oakmoss and cedar
7. Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man by Armaf
When it comes down to best fragrances in pocket friendly rates, I cannot miss out on the opportunity putting this scent on this list. What makes this scent worthy of this list is the fact that it smells like Creed Aventus. Yes! You read it right. But, at a price of 2,000 Rupees, all you are lacking is the complexity and natural smell that you get for Aventus.
Notes:
Top notes: bergamot, lemon, pineapple, black current
Mid notes: birch, jasmine, rose
Base notes: vanilla, ambergris, patchouli
8. Daarej by Rasasi
Honestly, this list would’ve been incomplete without this gem of a fragrance. Daarej is one of the best scents you can get your hands on, as it belongs to house of Rasasi which is a legendary house in itself.

If you are looking for a manly scent then Shurah is just for you. But, there is a caution, Shurah is infamous for being one of the most aggressive scents and you must have a great taste in fragrance to praise this lord. In order to pull this fragrance, you’ve got to be that guy who doesn’t care what’s going around.

Heart Notes: rose, sandlewood, cedar, and jasmine
Base Notes: amber, musk, oakmoss, agarwood (oud), and leather

If you are planning buying fresh scent for this summer, then stop what you are doing right now and get your hands on Davidoff’s Cool Water. As the name suggests, this scent is ranked amongst the best fresh and refresing scents in the fragrance industry.
