Tips To Follow On A Fresher’s First Day

Human species is running in a circle of life and death, where they are born, study, job, retirement, and death. A boy or a girl study to ace in their career & have a decent digit salary job. They study harder & after facing a tough job interview, the time comes to prepare for the first job.

The first day in an office is just like the first day in school. The only difference is no one forces you to go to the office- it’s just your own will. As the first day for your office approaches, one may feel a bit nervous and hesitant.

Working in a company as a fresher can be an incredible learning experience. The first job is a stepping stone for every individual’s career. The human nature for new co-workers and colleagues form perceptions about the “type” of person you are based on initial impressions. The first-time snap judgments can transform into long-term perceptions that may impact your career trajectory, and ultimately a success, at an organization.

Every fresher in the office needs to give their best. The first job is always challenging, yet overwhelming, and prepares a fresher for a job. For a fresher, the first job is more like an adventure, where an individual inculcates a new skill-set which helps to build confidence. A person must show etiquette by being polite and respectful towards their co-workers. It helps in building one’s reputation. As a volunteer, a fresher must be active and he/she should try to volunteer for new projects.

Make sure that you always give credits and always thank people whenever needed. The first job is a learning experience of users.

Here are a few tips that every individual must follow:

1. Planning outfit for the office

How you dress for the office matters a lot. Every fresher in corporate life is judged by the way they dress-up. Make sure you follow the HR policies and the dress code of the office (most of the companies follow a dress-code). Try to maintain a professional attire must still be maintained at least for the first day at the job. 2. Arriving office on time

No one likes the personality of a defaulter/latecomer. Every fresher in corporate life should always try to reach the office beforehand. Reach office fifteen minutes before the designed time to avoid any foreseen events on the way. It is better to practice the commute a couple of times to check the real-traveling time or the traffic surge regularly. An individual must plan the office route and should search online maps to select the best route, before leaving their house.

3. Prerequisite check

It is better to create a checklist the night before for every essential item needed in the morning. A checklist is something you can follow regularly; it can help a fresher to remain calm and composed. A prerequisite check can prevent morning chaos. Remember, all the little things that you need to take office with and work that you need to do in the morning. Schedule it up and check the tick once done.

4. Learn the best practices from your seniors

Try to observe your work and seniors. One should be an efficient observer and try to be a good listener to understand the workplace, your seniors, and the process. It will take a little time but the more you learn from your colleagues, the more skillful you become. Observe the best performers of your profile/department and try to inculcate the best practices to achieve the pinnacles of success.

5. Don’t try to be over-smart

Well, it’s your first day, and the only tip that will help you make a prominent first image will “Don’t try to be over smart.” Being a good listener always attracts people. To make a good impression, you can wait for you the right turn to speak. Even if you know the correct answer to a process, try to wait for the right time. Never flaunt about your knowledge

My first day in office:

I remember my first day in the office. As a fresher’s first day in the office, I was just as nervous just like any other fresher. After two hours of continuously waiting, the HR came to brief us all about the process and operations. HR also told us about the company policies, the leaves, and more. After it, the IT professional came in, and our biometrics recorded for the easy in-out of the office. After the completion of the process, I entered the main office area, where a new world was working with zeal. I met my team and also saw my seat.

I joined the organization as a content writer trainee, and the only work my team leads assigned to me was to read every blog of the company website. The day was tiring, but I was happy at the end of the day.

Conclusion:

Every fresher in corporate life or the first job is a milestone in one’s career. After clearing the test and cracking the interview, it’s time to join the office for the first time. A diligence search on the company and one’s job profile boosts one’s confidence. Following the few guidelines that can help your first day at the office will help you turn the life towards the milestone of success.
